How to get married in Melbourne

Follow these 3 steps and we can get you married next month.

  • Step 1 - Sign the NOIM form.

Please fill out the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form and have the form signed and witnessed by us on WhatsApp, Zoom or Facetime or at a police station, a Justice of the Peace or by a doctor, but NOT a chemist.

We can also commence the waiting period with just one of you signing the NOIM form, which helps if your fiancè is overseas and arriving before the wedding.

WE MUST RECEIVE THIS FORM A MINIMUM OF ONE MONTH BEFORE YOU WISH TO BE MARRIED. It can be emailed through to commence the 1 month waiting period.

Applying for an Australian visa does NOT qualify under the law as an urgent reason.

  • Step 2 - Email the form and ID documents.

Email the NOIM form and please also include photos of passports (expired is ok) or birth certificates/extract and drivers licences or POA card and they do not need to be certified and divorce/death certificates if you have been previously married.

This can be received by us before the wedding if you do not have all the documents ready when emailing the NOIM form.

    Email to info@registryweddings.com.au

  • Step 3 -Book your date.

Choose a wedding date and time using our online booking calendar.

It is okay if you do not have a wedding date yet, emailing the NOIM form commences the waiting period and then you can be married anytime in the following 18 months with just a few days notice to allow us to prepare the legal paperwork for you.

You can also book your date before sending the NOIM form as long as the wedding date is at least 1 month away.
